Degassing system for aluminum baths R.I.D.

The ADS (Automatic Dipping System) is an automatic robotic manipulator used to take temperature, oxygen, and carbon measurements and sample the molten metal bath in both EAF and LF furnace applications. SIDERMES can supply ADS robotic manipulators customized according to the customer's specific needs. Capable of operating from the vault or sampling/slag door, use of ADS offers substantial safety, quality and productivity benefits:

• Greater workplace safety. Minimize operator exposure to molten metal hazards.
• Optimization of the tap-to-tap time. During ADS immersion sequence, the furnace continues its operation.
• Reproducible robotic immersions insure sensor measurements and steel samples are representative and consistent since the robot is always dipped in the same point of the steel bath.
• Combined probes may be used (see the Steel line - sensors section ), ddecreasing total sampling time and wear & tear of the robot.

The ACCUOPTIX, ACCUCONE and ACCUMETRIX systems allow continuous temperature measurement in the Tundish by means of an optical sensor or a Type B thermocouple.
The constant control of this parameter means that the speed of casting can be adjusted to match the temperature of the steel in the Tundish in real-time thus optimising the quality of the end product and minimising the risk of break-out in the ingot mould caused by an inappropriate casting speed.
